Resource of the Week: Baby Wearing Resources from Wrapping Rachel

This week, we’re highlighting resources about baby wearing! From wraps to structured carriers, wearing your baby as you go about your daily life as a parent has become more and more popular. There are definitely pros to having your hands free throughout the day (especially if you have other kiddos) and still being able to have your baby close and comforted. Not only that, but the research behind baby wearing reveals many other positive benefits for both the caregiver and the baby.

While baby wearing sounds useful to many parents, it can be overwhelming to learn all of the details like how to use a carrier, how to get your baby inside, and how to position your baby safely.

Wrapping Rachel is a baby wearing educational blog that features tons of articles answering these questions as well as many more frequently asked questions about the practicals of baby wearing. Rachel also has a YouTube channel where you can watch many different “how to” video tutorials.

All about Using Baby Carriers

For many parents, especially if you’re a first time parent or haven’t done baby wearing before, figuring out how to use a baby carrier is a confusing first step! There are many different kinds of carriers available for sale, from woven wraps, to ring slings, to structured carriers with buckles and straps.

Wrapping Rachel offers blog articles, video tutorials, and photo tutorials about a myriad of baby wearing questions. These cover the first steps like how to choose a carrier that’s right for you, all the way to how to put on the carrier, how to put baby inside, and how to find the most comfortable and safe position for both you and baby.

I personally love the blog articles about parenting while baby wearing. There are some great motivational ideas for how baby wearing can help you while enjoying different seasonal weather and traveling with kids!

Tutorials and Tips

Rachel’s video tutorials on YouTube are a great resource for visualizing the practical aspects of baby wearing, like the step by step of how to put on a carrier or how to put baby inside. Sometimes it’s much easier to have someone guide you through the process, especially for the first few tries. They’re especially useful if you prefer video or audio resources (take our parenting learning styles quiz to find out what kinds of resources you personally like best).

Wrapping Rachel also has a selection of photo tutorials that also walk you through the process of putting on a carrier and putting baby inside in a step by step way. In addition, the blog has a collection of articles offering “carrier tips”. These include troubleshooting ideas if you’re struggling with your carrier or trying to find a more comfortable or secure hold for your baby. They also cover aspects like how to breastfeed while wearing your baby!

Additional Resources

In addition to these great tips and tutorials, Wrapping Rachel has other blog articles with general baby wearing resources. These cover topics like how to choose a carrier and a retailer directory, as well as carrier safety, and more. Explore the blog to find the answer to whatever your question is about baby wearing!
