2024: Join Us to Build a Better Process

Happy New Year!

We’re so excited to welcome 2024 because we have big plans for our growing community here at d is for decisions.

To kick off the year, we thought we’d share with you a bit of our story and vision. To learn more about our families and why we started d is for decisions, visit our welcome page!

We were up at the cabin one weekend, sitting together, each researching something parenting related. At one point, Caroline turned her laptop screen to Hannah, asking whether she’d heard of a certain brand and whether it was worth buying. The all too familiar “what do I do” discussion commenced.

In that moment, we realized just how many of these decision making conversations we had! And it wasn’t just between each other. We could recall so many similar conversations with friends, where someone would share about a product they were trying to buy, what to choose at an upcoming appointment, what to add to their baby registry, and the list went on.

As a parent, the many decisions you make for your children and families on a daily basis can sometimes feel overwhelming. You’re not alone!

We started d is for decisions to encourage you to choose intentionally.

Most influencers share their choices so you can learn from or imitate them. While this can be helpful, we found ourselves wishing we knew not just what to choose, but how to decide.

When it comes to making parenting decisions, the right choice is the one that best meets your child’s unique needs. We want to help you build an intentional, organized, and sustainable decision making process. In doing so, we hope you avoid overwhelm and emotional dysregulation and instead move forward with confidence. Instead of telling you to do what we do, we want to equip you to do what is best for you.

Our focus is on the process, not the outcomes.

To support your practical needs as a parent, we focus on two main areas:

  1. Resources

We wish we could just have all the resources we need about a given parenting topic in one place. It’s hard to find ones we like and trust, let alone read them and use the information productively in our decisions.

To meet this need, we’re building a collection of curated resources for you. Check out our resource recommendations, Resource of the Week posts (examples here and here), and look for more NEW digital resources coming soon!

  1. Community

We’re moms like you. Let’s find camaraderie in the shared journey of parenting! We hope to provide a place where you can find resources, gather information, ask others, process options, and become purposeful in your decision making. Join our subscriber community to read our newsletter and be supported in your process!

Through all of the researching, analyzing, and decision-making, remember that your intuition is sometimes the most valuable tool.

Thanks for joining our community. We hope you stay tuned as we have much more coming your way in the upcoming months!
